Activation and Protection of Traditional Culture of Ethnic Villages in Guizhou | Chapter 13 | Anthropological Explorations of Gender, Identity, and Economics

Guizhou has the largest number of traditional villages and ethnic minority characteristic villages in China, carrying a large number of conservative ethnic minority traditional culture. The semi-closed livelihood of residents makes the diverse traditional cultures of ethnic minorities feature a high sense of authenticity and mystery. Under the impact of modern life style however, these precious traditional cultures are faced with multiple vulnerabilities in terms of diversity, authenticity, viability, and sustainability. It is mainly manifested in the loss of cultural diversity and the destruction of cultural authenticity caused by the outflow of young people and the prosperity of tourism. In addition, the loss of cultural vitality and the threat of cultural sustainability caused by the modern life mode and the transformation and trends toward homogeneity are matters of concern. Relying on anthropological investigation and the analysis of the transmission and development mode of traditional culture, this paper takes ethnic villages in Guizhou as an example to explore the path of traditional culture inheritance and protection in southwest ethnic areas with rural revitalization as background.  It puts forward feasible suggestions on the activation and protection of traditional culture in ethnic villages.

Activation of the Surface of Cotton Fabrics for Chemical Metallization | Chapter 13 | Challenges and Advances in Chemical Science Vol. 8

To activate the surface of cotton fabrics prior to chemical nickel plating, it is proposed to leverage physical and chemical processes occurring in thin layers of copper (II) chloride solutions under the impact of electromagnetic solar rays in the visible range. It is shown that cellulose undergoes photo-oxidation in the presence of copper (II) chloride, the fabric's major component. The creation of well-bonded copper monochloride is the outcome of this reaction. During further processing of the fabric with phosphine gas, copper monochloride is converted into copper and copper phosphide. In the chemical nickel plating process, copper phosphide acts as a catalyst. In typical chemical nickel plating electrolytes, this enables for the creation of an electrically conductive nickel-phosphorus coating on the fabric's surface. It's also been observed that when specific parts are screened, the processes that cause copper monochloride creation don't happen. This allows for selective metallization of the fabric.

Intensification of Ion Transport in Molten Electrolytes by Stimulated Dissociation of Complex Ions | Book Publisher International

The monograph discusses the (auto) complex model of molten salts and how it may be used to explain and assess structural parameters and mass and charge transfer coefficients in them. The regularities of their activation under the action of high-voltage pulses and the dynamics of their relaxation in a nonequilibrium state are discussed, as well as a set of experimental results on the dependence of the electrical conductivity of molten and solid electrolytes on the strength of the electric field.

Graduate students and researchers working in the fields of physical chemistry and electrochemistry of molten and solid electrolytes can benefit from this book.

Cross-linking Mast Cell Specific Gangliosides Stimulates the Release of Newly Formed Lipid Mediators and Newly Synthesized Cytokines: An Advanced Study | Chapter 4 | Technological Innovation in Pharmaceutical Research Vol. 4

Mast cells are immune-regulatory cells that play a role in the inflammatory response. Mast cells are partially activated without the release of preformed mediators when GD1b generated gangliosides are cross-linked by mAbAA4. Following ganglioside cross-linking, the release of newly formed and newly synthesised mediators is investigated. The newly synthesised lipid mediators, prostaglandins D2 and E2, were produced when the gangliosides were crosslinked with mAbAA4, however leukotrienes B4 and C4 were not released. The impact of cross-linking these gangliosides on the activation of arachidonate cascade enzymes was then examined. The phosphorylation of cytosolic phospholipase A2 and enhanced production of cyclooxygenase-2 were both caused by ganglioside cross-linking. Ganglioside cross-linking did not cause 5-lypoxygenase to translocate from the cytosol to the nucleus. The newly produced mediators interleukin-4, interleukin-6, and TNF- were also released after cross-linking of GD1b generated gangliosides. After that, the impact of cross-linking the gangliosides on the MAP kinase pathway was examined. The phosphorylation of ERK1/2, JNK1/2, and p38, as well as the activation of both NFB and NFAT, was activated by cross-linking the gangliosides in a Syk-dependent way. As a result of cross-linking the mast cell-specific GD1b derived gangliosides, signalling pathways are activated, culminating in the release of newly generated and synthesised mediators. The current study contributes to a better understanding of the wide range of potential methods by which mast cells repress, enhance, and modulate non-FcRI driven immune responses.

Current Progress in Applied Materials Research: Thin Film, Carbon Nanotube and Activated Carbon | Chapter 12 | Recent Advances in Science and Technology Research Vol. 6

Nano materials are an important field in the science and technology world. Activated carbon, carbon nanotube and metal chalcogenide thin films were explored in this work. Activated carbon has been prepared by carbonization and activation processes using various raw materials. To improve the texture properties and generate better adsorption power, several activation agents such as KOH, NaOH, zinc chloride, phosphoric acid, sulphuric acid have been used. Due to high surface area and high porosity structure, the carbon obtained could be served as adsorbent to remove pollutant, dyes from wastewater. Thin films of metal chalcogenide have been synthesised through different techniques of deposition. For solar cells, sensor devices, laser devices and opto-electronic applications, the films obtained could be used. Different devices have been used to investigate the characterization of various forms of thin films. Many researchers have studied carbon nano tubes due to strong mechanical power, conditions, etc. Such stability, such resistance to corrosion. Ethernet cable, USB and coaxial cable could be used for this.
