Population Migration due to Interspecific Competition among Whiteflies (Homoptera: Aleyrodidae): A case Study from Southwestern Nigeria | Chapter 4 | Cutting Edge Research in Biology Vol. 9

This episode probe into interspecific competition 'tween four different whitefly class (Aleurodicus dispersus, a cocois, Aleurocanthus woglumi and Bemisia tabaci) that are present in all the environmental zones of Southwestern Nigeria during wet and dry seasons. Climate change and extreme weather occurrences have a major affect crop production and land pests. As mainly adaptable animals, insect viruses respond otherwise to different causes of feeling change. Whitefly populations are generally regulated by referring to practices or policies that do not negatively affect the environment factors in the way that temperature, snow, and humidity in general. High temperature in addition to high dampness correlates absolutely with whitefly community build-up. Fields surveys of these viruses were conducted from 8 examining sites within the five states (Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti and Ondo states) of Southwestern Nigeria all the while 2016 and 2019 to investigate the belongings of interspecific competition with whiteflies on plants in the region all the while wet and dry seasons. In the mangrove forest, rainforest, and derivative savannah zones of the region, whiteflies were gathered on crops and beautifying plants at sampling sites. Four variety—Aleurocanthus woglumi, Aleurodicus dispersus, A cocois, and Bemisia tabaci—were found to equate one another. Using the Paleontological Statistics Software Package (PAST), the class population of whiteflies was checked, and the distribution of the host surface with the species was checked using a non-parametric t-test.  The verdicts indicated that early rain season is when whitefly variety in the area battle the most, that led to less disease and quantity of the epidemic at the bottom of plant leaves while advocating a high number of the blight on upper leaf surfaces. . The contest is most during early rain season. A dispersus is noticed on the upper surface of plant leaves in southwestern Nigeria. Moreover, presences of competing species with type of season as abiotic determinant play a fundamental role to conform whitefly on upper side of host plant leaves.

Study on Eco Friendly, Economically Viable Plant Protection Products | Chapter 10 | Technological Innovation in Pharmaceutical Research Vol. 10

Beans are one of the world's most popular and widely grown vegetable crops, but they suffer from a range of diseases spread by whiteflies and other insects, reducing their productivity. Whiteflies can also infect beans with a range of viral illnesses. Bean Common Mosaic Virus (BCMV), Bean Yellow Mosaic Virus (BYMV), Bean Golden Mosaic Virus (BGMV), and other viruses have been identified in beans. In agriculture, a number of synthetic pesticides have been employed to control insects, which damage the plant and have a detrimental influence on the environment; however, because of their bad impact on the environment, new ecologically friendly pest management strategies are required. The synthesis, physicochemical characterization, and application of a mixture of potassium palmitate and pyrethroids; pyrethroids, and potassium stearate as non-permanent insecticides against whiteflies found on bean plants, as well as the use of the T-test to compare the efficacy of prepared insecticidal formulations, are discussed in this paper.
