Study on Surgical Video Training: Virtual Learning Curve without Surgery using 30 Consecutive Videos Cases | Chapter 13 | Highlights on Medicine and Medical Science Vol. 15

The goal of this study was to evaluate technical skill improvement after 30 consecutive video cases during young surgeons training or training during a novel technique using YouTube and other platforms as a potential training aid for young surgeons. Surgeons have utilised online platforms to engage with one another since 1999, when DiNucci et al created the phrase "Web 2.0." YouTube is one of these platforms and is quickly becoming one of the most important sources of internet-based medical information. The usage of interactive films has altered surgical education. Videos should be used in addition to normal surgical teaching techniques since they appear to shorten learning curves for complex procedures and have the ability to detect discrepancies in operative technique and their impact on patient outcomes. Surgical video learning (SVL) has emerged as an emergent concept in surgery as a result of this evolution. YouTube can be a useful tool for young surgeons in terms of training, but it's vital to evaluate the quality of videos and apply video-learning criteria to do so. During our literature review, we discovered that a quality assessment of videos and video-learning criteria were required. Because of the use of very short films, lack of step-by-step methods, incorrect procedure, and low quality video, SVL has numerous problems in terms of education. For these reasons, various authors debated whether video learning is a friend or foe for surgeons in terms of learning. We chose films based on the amount of views, video lengths between 5 and 10 minutes, video sources (main centre), and video quality. We analysed the current data for video-based surgical education approaches, analysing the benefits and drawbacks in teaching technical and nontechnical surgical abilities, and proposed a learning curve improvement criteria of 30 films for each surgical procedure, dubbed the "Virtual Learning Curve" (VLC).

Assessment Techniques for Prospective Early Childhood Education Teachers: A Comparative Investigational Study in Greece and Cyprus | Chapter 8 | Selected Topics in Humanities and Social Sciences Vol. 2

Assessment in preschool education is a multi-dimensional, intricate, ongoing, and dynamic process that necessitates the use of appropriate, innovative, effective, and alternative techniques because it benefits all entities involved in the educational process by providing a clear and visible picture of all the true dimensions of learning, functioning, and development. The current investigational approach's goal is to scrutinize the assessment. Techniques used by prospective educators in preschool education during their internships not only in Greece, but also in Cyprus. More specifically, a comparative study between the two groups was sought in order to establish not only their perspectives on the issue under discussion, but also the types of techniques chosen, as well as the frequency with which they are implemented. The structured self-report questionnaire, which included both closed-ended and explanatory open-ended questions, was used as a research tool. The research data emphasize the importance of assessment in preschool education and favor screening of children's development as the basic actualization of assessment. Furthermore, future instructors demonstrated a positive attitude and awareness of alternative assessment techniques, as well as recognition of their effectiveness in Kindergarten, despite their final limited actual implementation. Despite the limitations of the study, the findings serve as a springboard for further research on the subject, allowing for proposals and hypotheses pertaining to University Curricula in Early Childhood Education faculties on the enhancement of To be posed is the practical implementation of alternative assessment techniques into preschool education.

Principles of Designing Speaking Strategies in a Second Language Classroom | Chapter 9 | Arts and Social Studies Research Vol. 1

Language has its own set of rules for speaking and writing in a proper way.  Speaking in a person’s native language well and accurate is a challenging task, but acquiring the speaking skill in a second language requires more effort, commitment and practice. Speaking a second language is an important skill for every modern student. Classroom is a learning place or environment where the learning process takes place. Classroom teaching refers to the wide variety of skills and techniques that the teacher used to keep the students into organized, orderly, focused and attentive person on task and develop the speaking ability to them. A teacher is one who interacts with students and the role model of them. Teacher is a person who supports the students when they need help. The teacher acts the roles of a resource person, an instructor, mentor, helping hand to the students and finally a learner forever. The learners clearly feel that classroom based speaking practice prepared them for the real world and the teacher is the guide to achieve that goal. Spoken language is both interactional and transactional. When teaching the spoken language is based on the performances in a classroom, the main focus on teaching longer transactional turns into interactional outcome. Making the learners to be the master of spoken language, the teacher follows certain principles and strategies. The basic truth or proposition that serves as the foundation for a system of belief or behavior is known as principle. The act or process of taking an action or work in a successful way is known as performance. This paper mainly deals with the basic principles for designing the classroom speaking techniques and the types of classroom speaking performances of the students by their teachers.
