Smart and Sustainable: An Analysis of Eco-Friendly Materials in Architecture and Interior Design | Chapter 4 | Materials That Matter: The Future of Interiors through Innovation

 

The ecological implications of traditional building materials have increased the quest for environmentally friendly alternatives in interior design and architecture. This chapter examines the potential of green smart materials in promoting sustainability in interior design and architecture. It also examines existing developments, criteria for selection, incorporation of conventional and contemporary practices, and challenges and opportunities of using these materials. By analysing breakthroughs in material science, design innovation, and green building practices, the study aims to establish prominent trends, performance indicators, and strategic avenues for integrating smart, sustainable materials in buildings. Adopting a qualitative, literature-based approach, the study synthesises cross-disciplinary outcomes from material science, design theory, and cultural practice. It suggests a Convergence Framework that connects material intelligence, technological convergence, and cultural sensitivity as an integrated model of sustainable design. The findings point to the promise and the systemic obstacles in embracing eco-smart materials and provide theoretical contributions and practical implications for designers, architects, and policy-makers in creating greener, culturally responsive spaces.

Eco Aspects in Revitalisation Tenement Housing Quarters in Szczecin (PL)| Chapter 7 | Techniques and Innovation in Engineering Research Vol. 7

 This unit is trying to answers on question: how the tenable development influence on plotting of revitalization process, especially for affordable housing quarters in downtowns of the municipalities?.Residential quarters from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries wait an important part of existent urban tissue, specifically in large places, in Poland as in other European countries. Tenement housing was built for the middle and lower social classes. The faсade tenement houses had big, comfortable flats, when in fact the annexes had small, substandard flats accompanying no amenities. Living environments and the living environment must be improved urgently, particularly for flats situated within quarters. The suggestion to demolish complete inside quarters and replace ruling class with green and relating to sports areas is a mistake. The sustainable incident paradigm has changed people's perceptions of nineteenth-of one hundred years quarters and in what way or manner to improve them. According to tenable development belief, social, economic, and material issues are all intertwined. They all make an impression the architecture, and thus on the dimensional and technical plans that are used. Ecological aspects of the revitalisation process have a meaningful impact on two together large-scale planning answers and small-scale structural, technical, and material solutions secondhand in specific constructions or flats. The most important ecological facets for architectural design and revival are energy-related, material-connected, and space-accompanying, or better time-space-related, place the entire biological clock is examined.The presented everything of the author and exceptionally the fallowing implementation of an ecological remodeling of a Turzyn Quarter in Szczecin are the showcase of the material and non-material benefits for crowd and environment, which are led by such an approach to revitalisation.

An Approach to Sustainable Architecture through Adaptive Reuse of Building Materials for Restaurant Interiors | Chapter 2 | Research Developments in Science and Technology Vol. 9

Building building and demolition are ongoing processes that have existed since antiquity, are still in use now, and have a promising future. of it. The modern building industry produces a lot of garbage from various jobs. sites, whether it be for brand-new building, remodelling, or complete demolition. many of the demolition-related debris were thrown in landfills, taking big space for a long time. This article seeks to design the inside of restaurants. by repurposing materials in an innovative way to accomplish architectural sustainability. Additionally, it aims to blend these components into a range of rather than throwing them in the trash, use them in architectural and interior projects. The article details the procedures and stages involved in the selected project's adaptive reuse of resources. The project as a whole plays with the tension between old and new materials, the use of locally accessible materials, sustainability, and creating an atmosphere that gives the restaurant a hint of traditional or vernacular character. The study is also meant to serve as an example of how to repurpose construction waste in sustainable interior design projects. The paper also highlights the necessity of putting into practise a number of strategies, such as preventing, recycling, and reusing construction and demolition wastes, as well as the creation of laws, control bodies, codes, and standards that must be applied to the construction industry in order to reduce Construction and demolition trash have a 50% impact.
