Evaluation of Hepatotoxicity of Mallotus Philippensis against CCl4 and ATT-Induced Rats| Chapter 8 | Current Overview on Pharmaceutical Science Vol. 4

 Mallotus philippensis (Mp), as known or named at another time or place kamala in India, is a large woodlike multipurpose curative tree in the Euphorbiaceae kin. Mp has many activities, containing skin problems, bronchitis, antifungal, wiggle infestation (tapeworm), eye ailment, cancer, diabetes, and looseness of the bowels. As a result, the current study sought to evaluate the hepatoprotective potential of Mp methanolic fruit extract. The hepatoprotective venture of CCl4 was investigated using excellent:1 ratio of liquid brownish oil to crowd weight and ATT (isoniazid 7.5 mg/kg, rifampicin 10 mg/kg, and pyrazinamide 35 mg/kg b.w.) inferred models. To assess the toxicity, an severe toxicity study and preliminary phytochemical screening were transported. After oral presidency of the methanolic fruits extract at a dosage of 2 g/kg body pressure, rats showed no toxicity characterization. The extract of Mp was given in two doses of 300 mg/kg and 500 mg/kg. Biochemical limits were reduced considerably (p0.001) when compared to the control. The demeanor of tannins, alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and terpenoids was discovered all the while phytochemical screening of the product extract. It can be decided that the hepatoprotective activity of Mallotus philippensis is generally due to the attendance of high-value compounds in the way that the phenolic group, which is the plant's main content.

Impact of a Marine Algae against Oxidative Stress Induced Alzheimers in Animal Model | Chapter 8 | New Visions in Biological Science Vol. 1

 Aluminium is a neurotoxic metal that causes neurological diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. Due to its existence in food, air, water, pharmaceuticals, and as floculating agents in the water purification process, chronic exposure to it is a genuine possibility. Controlling its toxicity through natural sources is crucial, hence the current study looked at the neuroprotective potential of Sargassum ilicifolium against aluminium induction. To produce cognitive impairment in rats, 100mg/kg b.wt of aluminium chloride was given orally. The ethanolic extract and ethyl acetate fraction of doses 100, 200, 400mg/kg and 200mg/kg, respectively, were chosen and administered from the 21st day of aluminium induction to the 40th day, and behavioural studies, antioxidant studies, neurotransmitter estimation, and finally histopathological studies were performed in drug-treated animals. The study found a possible neuroprotective impact via improving learning memory status in behavioural trials, reversing stress-induced free radicals, and increasing the levels of neurotransmitters involved in memory consolidation.
