Feasibility Analysis of Rooftop Solar Power Generation System in Academic Institution | Chapter 4 | Contemporary Perspective on Science, Technology and Research Vol. 6

This research examines the possibility of energy savings using lighting in an academic institution, the Politeknik Sultan Azlan Shah (PSAS), Malaysia. Three of PSAS's primary academic buildings underwent an energy audit to see how much energy was used for lighting. The 3 academic buildings involved are the Mechanical Engineering Department (MED), the Civil Engineering Department (CED), and the Electrical Engineering Department (EED). To determine which lighting types in academic buildings, consume the most energy, this study examines five distinct lighting options. Fluorescent T8 36W, Fluorescent T8 18W, Compact Fluorescent (CFL) 24W, Metal Halide (MH) 400W, and Ttube 18W are the five lighting kinds involved in this study. The calculation of energy savings is predicated on the installation of hybrid solar systems on the three buildings. Based on the energy audit findings, it is predicted that installing a hybrid system that includes a rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system will save energy by at least 5% compared to data from the previous year. Potential energy savings in 2019 respectively for MED, CED, and EED obtained through feasibility studies are about 4299 kWh, 2,319 kWh, and 3,269 kWh. Meanwhile, the energy cost savings obtained for MED, CED, and EED are approximately RM 1,569, RM 846, and RM 3,269 respectively.

Energy Efficiency and Conservation Practices for Sustainable Development| Chapter 4 | Current Overview on Science and Technology Research Vol. 10

The way to an optimum energy resolution for sustainable development is through strength efficiency and strength conservation (EEAEC). To attain and claim optimal energy obtainment and use in any home or organization, EE and EC agree. They contribute to reducing strength expenditures, waste, and negative tangible effects without prejudicing the caliber of the work presented. Energy efficiency (EE) refers to the ability to preserve energy while maintaining the alike level of service. It is the ability to use new technology and supplies to perform the same tasks accompanying less energy. Energy conservation (EC) is attained, on the other hand, when you adopt better habits of doing things while utilizing the same amount of applicable energy to produce more valuable work. EC minimizes the need for fuel derived from prehistoric organisms sources. The spin-offs keep result in improved material quality, national and private security, and cost funds, putting EC at the top of the tenable energy portfolio ranking. The purpose of this article search out investigate and demonstrate the mechanics distinctions middle from two points EE and EC, allowing us to create an strength audit checklist applicable to dwellings, commercial, and industrial requests.
