Big Data-Artificial Intelligence as a Systemic Procedure in the Field of Legal and Forensic Medicine | Chapter 7 | Science and Technology: Developments and Applications Vol. 6

The combination of Big Data (BD), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Systemic Procedure (SP) constitutes a transversal technological approach focused on improving decision-making in the field of Medicine and, in particular, of Legal and Forensic Medicine. It is advisable that medical professionals become increasingly involved in the knowledge of new concepts, technologies and tools that are becoming increasingly essential for daily work. The terms Big Data and Artificial Intelligence are increasingly used, seeking a symbiosis between them. If we add to these terms the term Systemic Procedure, we have the necessary concepts to approach any field with greater efficiency.

In recent years, Big Data in Medicine has become a phenomenon and the field of Legal and Forensic Medicine could not be left out. The complexity of the data processed in this field is evident and, therefore, requires special treatment. The application of Artificial Intelligence to forensic sciences is increasingly less questionable since reliable, verifiable and reproducible results are obtained. The characteristics (the V’s) with which Big Data is endowed are those that define it. The sequence of characteristics continues: 3, 5, 7, 9. We will focus on the development of Big Data through seven characteristics (7 V’s).

The concepts (BD) and (AI) must go hand in hand with the growth of the greater computational capacity that is being developed and the improvement of the algorithms used.

The objective of this article is to analyze, from a theoretical point of view, Big Data (BD) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the field of Legal and Forensic Medicine as a Systemic Procedure (SP) with a holistic perspective. Implementing Fig. 2 through algorithms of both Big Data and Artificial Intelligence with a Systemic Procedure structure will help decision-making in general and, in particular, in the field of Legal and Forensic Medicine.

Preventing Health Care Provision Errors: Medical Ethics and Clinical Documentation | Chapter 14 | New Advances in Medicine and Medical Science Vol. 2

The idea of the standard of care is often conferred among healthcare providers, and still, not understood by many. Healthcare providers are held to a bigger standard than the general appendages of the public. This bigger standard affects two together their clinical and individual lifestyle when they are not at work. The field of permissible medicine covers a off-course range of topics had connection with law, cure, ethics, civil rights, and individual rights. This area of expertise is necessary in the healthcare industry cause it is the responsibility of healthcare experts to always act in high-quality interests of their patients.  If healthcare professions forsake to meet this duty they can and will be charged in a legal tribunal. Medical misconduct is defined as the allowable cause of action that stands when a healthcare professional fails to support the standard of care in their field, harming a patient in the process. This can happen when a patient endures harm as a result of a healthcare professional's carelessness. Negligence is a coarse medical abuse claim, involving unfit, unqualified, or sub-standard care supplying of a patient by a physician, pedodontist, nurse, pharmacist, or different healthcare professional. When a healthcare provider does not meet the standard of care, they have breach their contract with their patient.Unconcern is a by-product produced of providers the one do not take the time or have enough opportunity to perform their unavoidable duties in healthcare supplying. There are any sure ways providers maybe successful in preventing mishaps of healthcare supplying. The best research and dispassionate expertise must be inspected by a large number of healthcare professionals so that help them meet sufferers' needs beyond the opportunity of optimal care childbirth and help them prevent any disasters along the way.  This chapter has only crazy the surface in preventing disasters in healthcare provision. More research exhaustive is required to help us believe how to handle inadequacies when caring for sufferers.

Discussion Surrounding the Identification of Henry IV’s Alleged Skull: Advanced Study | Chapter 12 | Recent Advances in Science and Technology Research Vol. 2

On Sunday, 13th March 2011, at half past eight in the evening, the French public national television channel France 5 broadcasted a documentary relating the investigation which had led to the “formal” identification of Henry IV’s skull. It had been conducted by a team of scientists led by Doctor Philippe Charlier, a forensic medical examiner - a well-known anthropologist. Throughout the programme, many factors were introduced and proved the identification. And yet, taking a scientific step back and looking at things from a distance with historical knowledge, these factors seem to be questionable. A new perspective which sowed the seeds of doubt on the showcasing of absolute certainty.
