Enhancing Data Compression Efficiency in Wireless Sensor Networks: A Study and Modification of Rice Golomb Coding Algorithm | Chapter 5 | Theory and Applications of Engineering Research Vol. 9

The chapter suggests improvements to the Rice Golomb Coding (RGC) compression for wireless sensor networks (WSN), focusing on nodes with limited resources. To extend the network's life, effective data compression is crucial, especially for nodes periodically sending data to the sink. Five techniques adapting RGC based on adjustable parameters from preprocessed input data is presented in this chapter. The goal is to reduce energy use during communication in WSN nodes. Using various MATLAB datasets, we compare outcomes, where the EMARGC_D method, with auto-differencing, shows better results. Real-time tests with NI WSN nodes in LabVIEW support the practicality of our approach. This aims to deepen understanding of our findings, particularly in aiding resource-constrained nodes sending data regularly to the sink node.

Assessment of Real Time Weather Surveillance via Lab View Interfaced Arduino | Chapter 13 | Technological Innovation in Engineering Research Vol. 5

The report precisely and economically describes the real-time weather monitoring system. Today's reality includes a wide range of weather conditions, notably in the United Arab Emirates. Numerous industries' workplaces, their transportation networks, and the regular operations of a range of other human endeavours may all be negatively impacted by climate change. The basic idea behind LDR is that its sensitivity changes depending on the wavelength of the light. The VIPM (virtual instrumentation package manager), which directly projects the Arduino's analogue to digital conversion parameters, is a crucial necessity for this. A comprehensive real-time meteorological weather monitoring system employing the cutting-edge Bosch barometric pressure sensor BMP180 and Adafruit humidity sensor DHT22 is the suggestion made. Utilizing an effective virtual simulation (LabVIEW) that is connected directly to an ATmega328 quartz crystal 16 MHZ CPU, monitoring is accomplished. In order to evaluate environmental features and give a real-time metrological analysis, the research makes use of sophisticated technology. The panel arrangement is used to regularly check these qualities and therefore help with additional maintenance measures. guaranteeing a good work environment as a consequence.

Research on Real Time Implementation of Fuzzy Based Buck Boost Converter Using LabVIEW | Chapter 6 | New Ideas Concerning Science and Technology Vol. 12

Virtual instrumentation is characterised as the use of industry-standard computer technology to construct user-defined instrumentation systems by combining measurement and control hardware and software. Using LabVIEW, this paper proposes a two-input fuzzy logic controller (FLC) for buck boost converter output-voltage regulation. As two inputs to the controller, the output voltage has been used as a closed loop feedback to evaluate the output error (e) and the shift in error (e). The inductance and capacitor in the buck boost converter were chosen to ensure continuous operating mode (CCM) and low output voltage ripple. The FLC has a strong output voltage response when compared to the PID controller response, according to the experimental results. This study successfully demonstrated that LabVIEW and Fuzzy Logic controllers can be used to create a method for selecting controller modes.
