Diversity and Distribution of Zooplankton in Pandu Lake, Telangana, India| Chapter 2 | Research Aspects in Biological Science Vol. 7

To assess the trophic state of Pandu Lake in Bodhan, Telangana, India, and to gain new knowledge about its ecology, a study on the distribution and abundance of zooplankton was carried out between August 2002 and July 2004. In an aquatic ecosystem, zooplankton plays a vital role in the trophic structure and is primarily in charge of energy transfer. The order of zooplankton abundance in the Pandu Lake was Rotifera > Ostracoda > Copepoda > Diptera > Cladocera. Rotifers had the greatest diversity and population density of any zooplankton over the duration of the research. Results demonstrated Pandu Lake's eutrophic status. The planktons are useful indicators of the quality of the water in Pandu Lake, and their ecological relevance suggests that the nutrient load, a major contributor to the eutrophication process, should be controlled.

Investigating the Effect of Dissolved Oxygen on Rotifers of Chakki Talab, Bodhan, Telangana, India | Chapter 10 | New Visions in Biological Science Vol. 3

The goal of this study was to see how dissolved oxygen affected the diversity and abundance of rotifers in Chakki talab, Bodhan, Telangana. Rotifer distribution and diversity are impacted by eutrophication and poor water quality in freshwater habitats. Rotifers from seven genera were researched from October 2015 to September 2016, and their density was affected by a little change in dissolved oxygen levels. The preponderance of the genera Brachionus and Keratella revealed Chakki talab's eutrophic status.
