Assessment of SIMBox Fraud: An Approach to National Security Threat | Chapter 5 | Innovations in Science and Technology Vol. 1

SIMBox fraud has become one of the most sophisticated sorts of fraud in recent years. As bypass fraud continues to be one of the most common and costly crimes, telecom regulators and mobile providers are suffering significant revenue losses. Gateway equipment such as fixed, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM), Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA), VOIP to GSM, and fixed line gateway are used to terminate international inbound calls to local subscribers. By diverting traffic away from lawful interconnect gateways, fraudsters get around the connections. Outbound international traffic sent by fraudulent operators is routed through interconnect operators with reduced rates, resulting in revenue loss for the originating internet service provider. Because persons who commit SIMBox fraud are not licenced to provide telecommunication services, it is deemed criminal. Terrorist groups utilise SIMBox fraud to make international calls at local call rates, which is considered a national security danger. The study's main goals are to provide background information on cellular networks, internet gateways, voice over internet protocol, a basic review of SIMBox architecture, internet bypass fraud (including GSM gateway and SIMBox fraud), and state-of-the-art procedures to prevent SIMBox fraud. The investigation of SIMBox fraud as a national security hazard is the topic of this chapter. In addition, this research provides techniques for minimising such security threats as well as next-generation forensic detection tools.

5th Generation Wireless Communication Revolution: A Recent Study | Chapter 9 | Novel Perspectives of Engineering Research Vol. 3

In the smallest amount of time, the entire world is moving at breakneck pace. The goal of this essay is to illustrate the characteristics of future 5G technology. The speed of technology has increased from 1 G to 4G. Although the bad and good features of 5G technology have yet to be discussed, the argument has already begun. 5 G is a fully functional wireless communication system with few constraints. 5 G is predicted to usher in another another revolution by providing extremely fast internet speeds. It is in favour of WWWW. The real wireless world, according to some, is 5 G. Each generation, however, has benefits over the others. The introduction of 5G marks a paradigm shift in thinking. A wearable gadget having artificial intelligence capabilities can be characterised as the fifth generation. Thanks to 5G, everything will be protected and monitored automatically. An attempt has been made to discuss aspects of 5G and associated characteristics in this endeavour.
