Insight on Prevalent Viral Infectious Diseases and Their Orofacial Presentation | Chapter 7 | New Visions in Medicine and Medical Science Vol. 6

In the past 2 years, we have seen the severe effects of viral diseases such as Covid-19, especially causing death. HIV AIDS, dengue, chikungunya, monkeypox, herpes, and blood-borne viral diseases have also come in recent news. There are many diseases that affect individuals. Of these most contagious and most easily communicable are viral infections. They start with cold, cough, sneezing, and influenza conditions. If proper precautions are not taken they are spread from person to person. These viral diseases have dental/oral lesions. If dentists are aware of these, they can definitely early diagnose and treat them. In this study, the oral presentation in prevalent viral diseases like HIV AIDS, herpes, covid, chikungunya, and dengue fever was discussed. It is essential that viral diseases and their oral lesions are examined so that necessary steps can be taken. Dental caries, periodontitis, Perimplantitis, and apical periodontitis are the most common dental diseases which are seen in patients. In the last 2 years, some viral infections have come up that need correct treatment planning for great success.

A Brief Overview of Major Citrus Diseases and Pests and Its Management | Chapter 10 | Current Topics in Agricultural Sciences Vol. 1

The worldwide impact of a variety of insects, pests, and diseases has resulted in poorer output and a shorter productive life span for citrus trees. Pathogens or causal organisms in the form of bacteria, fungi, viruses, nematodes, and virus-like pathogens are responsible for the occurrence of several seeds, soil and air borne diseases, and pests infested/infected symptoms in citrus plant parts, resulting in economic losses to citrus growers in the citrus belts. Pest infestations, as well as fungal, bacterial, and viral diseases, are more frequent in the cultivated area when plants are exposed to high humidity and heavy rains from May to September. As a result, the main goals of this chapter were to identify the most important citrus-harming species and to highlight the best management practises for them. Citrus Greening, Citrus Canker, Orange Scab, Leaf and Fruit Spot, Blue mould, Phytophthora Root Rot, Sooty Mould, Citrus Wither Tip, Armillaria, Sooty Blotch, Tristeza Virus, Citrus Yellow Mosaic Virus, Grey Mosaic Virus, Grey Mosaic Virus, Grey Mosaic Virus, Grey Mosaic Virus, Grey Mosaic Virus, Grey Mosaic Furthermore, it has been emphasised that chemical control is solely reliant on the use of chemicals to manage such dangerous pests and illnesses. As a result, using integrated orchard management approaches in conjunction with sanitation practises and closely monitoring the appearance and development of important pests and diseases is an alternate method of reducing the usage of chemical pesticides and insecticides.
