Assessing the Drought Years for Rainfall Data through Precipitation Index-Rainfall Anomaly Index | Chapter 8 | Research Advances in Environment, Geography and Earth Science Vol. 10

The climate indices of the Rainfall Anomaly Index and mean deviation methods are used to identify drought years and wet years over both spatial and temporal on the time scale. The rainfall data from 1979-2019 was collected from CRIDA, Hyderabad for the hilly Zone in Karnataka state in India. In Hilly Zone, the dry years occurred for 19 years. Extreme drought occurred in 2016, 2001, 2002, 2015, 2003, 1987 and 2017 (< -3 RAI). With climate issues high on the global agenda, the potential role of efficient water management in drought-affected areas in climate change adaptation is attracting widespread attention among state and national governments. RAI is used to assess and identify droughts, drought severity and variability by comparing with some established arbitrary value.

Worm Infestation | Chapter 13 | Novel Research Aspects in Medicine and Medical Science Vol. 5

The aim of this chapter search out investigate wiggle infestation knowledge with service receiving infants, service transfering school teachers, and civil people participation and aid. As well as the impact of health education on research colleagues. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), around 1400 million society worldwide are polluted with one of the three types of stomach parasitic organisms. They are an disease that is widespread of roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms. Diseases connected with these infestations influence 200 million youngsters. Hookworm was in the direction of 25 to 30 youngsters in India. Worm contamination among children is began by poor living conditions in the way that improper conclusion of faeces and other wastes, overcrowding, unclean health practices, and inadequate material cleanliness. Worm infestations are induced by unsanitary practices, that's why the Government of India started the National de-worming era programme in 2015, with a yearly two-phased remark in order to prevent wiggle infestations. Using a pre-tested inquiry, a school-based cross-sectional interference research was done to measure awareness of wiggle infestation between children, teachers, and the approximate community. To select children, teachers, and society members, a systematic sample grabbed at random, universal savoring, and a convenient sampling approach were secondhand. The knowledge about worm disease was measured in a criterion study, and after delivering strength education, the Post-test was completed activity using the same inquiry on the same participants. The guideline test knowledge of school teenagers was 51.36%, but the post-test knowledge was 83.73%. The baseline information among school teachers was 57.11%, that climbed to 92.17% in the post-test, but the accepted population's baseline information was 41.91%, which raised to 88.16% in the post-test. Despite the fact that the Indian government launched the public de-worming day action in 2015, only approximately 60% of the people was aware of the worm plague the programme. This study found that health instruction was the most productive way to improve the understanding of worm plague.
