Cultural Heritage Conservation as a Sustainable Source of Genes: Strengthening and Regenerating Cultural Identity in Japan | Chapter 5 | Science and Technology - Recent Updates and Future Prospects Vol. 4

The concept of sustainable development has been the main topic of many international conferences. Although many discussions are related to the role of cultural heritage in sustainable development, they develop only on a theoretical level.  This study introduces a brief history of the discovery of and conservation efforts to preserve the Nara Palace Site in Japan, which brought about the recognition of this heritage site as a World Cultural Heritage location by UNESCO in 1996. Accordingly, the 1994 Nara Document on Authenticity plays an important role in contributing to Japanese cultural heritage conservation achievements, with the expansion of cultural diversity and heritage diversity and the concepts of values and authenticity, which proposed a new orientation in terms of awareness and openness to develop a broader vision when identifying architectural heritage values. The unifying characteristic of the wooden architectural heritage of Asian countries is the creation of structures from a variety of timbers using specific tenonjointing techniques. In addition to forced changes, due to human repair and renovation activities, wooden structures also show their own changes due to external factors that affect them and the unavoidable effects of material decomposition. Against this background, we first discuss the newly proposed concept of socalled “architectural heritage DNA” and its potential structure, providing a simple formula for appraising the authentic values of architectural heritage conservation works. The viewpoints expressed in this paper are based on the most common concepts of these international conventions but are interpreted in a novel, understandable, practical, and highly applicable approach suited to both the current sociopolitical situation and future scenarios. To successfully conserve the cultural genetics of each ethnic community, it is necessary that “architectural heritage DNA” needs to be assumed and regenerated for the further cultural development of each country.

Evaluating the Probability of Accuse in Deliberate Data Breaches | Chapter 2 | Research Updates in Mathematics and Computer Science Vol. 2

 For many businesses, the quantity of sensitive information handled by external service providers is on the rise. With an expanding array of entities granted access to databases, the task of preventing and tracking data leaks becomes increasingly challenging. We address the problems associated with verifying ownership and unlawful distribution (leaking) of information in relational databases. Our suggested method provides a thorough strategy for identifying, discouraging, and tracking down data breaches in relational databases. Our primary descriptive use case is business process outsourcing scenarios, but our techniques can also be applied to other scenarios involving shared relational databases that need to maintain confidentiality and authenticity. Initially, fingerprinting and watermarking were employed to determine who owns what and keep track of illegally distributed numerical relational data. In our current work, we introduce "realistic but counterfeit" objects into our database, a technique akin to watermarking.

Investigation of Physico-chemical Properties and Evaluation of the Sensory Attributes of Kithul (Caryota urens) Treacle to Determine the Adulteration | Chapter 8 | Current Research in Agricultural and Food Science Vol. 5

 Kithul treacle is a popular traditional sweetener in Sri Lanka, not only because of its delicious taste, but also because of its nutritional worth and health advantages. As a result, Kithul treacle has been tainted by the addition of table sugar, tarnishing its reputation as a low-GI sweetener. Its authenticity has been difficult due to the various types of adulteration and the lack of appropriate analytical procedures to detect adulterations. The goal of this study was to develop adequate analytical methods for detecting table sugar adulteration of Kithul treacle. Pure Kithul treacle was gathered from registered tappers under the Ministry of Export Agriculture in three geographical areas (Matale, Kandy, and Rathnapura), and samples were contaminated with table sugar syrup at various proportions (5 percent , 10 percent , 15 percent , 20 percent , and 25 percent ). For pure Kithul treacle, the samples were evaluated for physicochemical parameters, yielding mean values of pH 5.58, free acidity 0.33, Brix value 69.36, moisture content 23.52 percent, electrical conductivity 474.22, and reducing sugar 68.81. The findings demonstrate that all metrics differ considerably between pure and contaminated Kithul treacle, and that many of the commercial samples taken from local markets in the study area are of good quality and meet national and international standard limits. According to the Codex Standard, treacle should not include more than 0.5 percent acidity and no more than 30% moisture content. All of the samples that were tested met the above-mentioned two criteria. However, several Kithul treacle samples gathered from local marketplaces revealed higher levels of specific characteristics than recommended in physicochemical tests, indicating that certain sellers perform some level of adulteration.
