The Impact of the Digital Alliance for NGOs via Digital Awareness Kiosks (Ethics Kiosks) Project: Towards Achieving Sustainable Development in Egyptian Society | Chapter 6 | Contemporary Research in Business, Management and Economics Vol. 6

The digital revolution has transformed the way we live, work, and play. Digital technologies have brought immense benefits to individuals, businesses, and society as a whole. Digitalization, which is the adoption of digital technologies, has had a significant impact on the operations and activities of non-profit organizations. This paper aims to examine the effects of digitalization on non-profit organizations in terms of their communication, fundraising, and service delivery. The study draws on a review of the existing literature and analysis of case studies to provide a comprehensive understanding of these impacts.

The findings indicate that digitizing non-profit organizations has had several positive impacts including significant improvements in communication, reaching wider audiences and effective engagement with stakeholders, providing new revenue generation channels, and connecting with donors. Digitalization has also facilitated the delivery of services and reached more people in need. The paper also discussed the positive contributions that digitization can make to sustainable development, including increased efficiency, reduced resource use, new business models, increased access to education and healthcare, and improved environmental management. However, the adoption of digital technologies has also created new challenges for non-profit organizations, including the need to invest in technology infrastructure and manage data security, and privacy issues. e-waste, the digital divide, and cybersecurity challenges.

This paper provides an overview of the impact of digitalization on sustainable development and concludes with some recommendations on how to maximize the positive impacts of digitalization while minimizing the negative impacts.

The ethics kiosk project (the digital alliance for civil society) won first place in the national initiative in the Suez Canal region for the category of non-profit projects, as it is the first ERP system that combines operational and development departments and works on the governance of donations in receiving and disbursing them. It is a technical version of an ethics kiosk project which has been discussed before in a different scientific paper (Elgammal, 2023). It is the first in the Arab world to take care of all developmental and charitable aspects within the framework of the governance of administrative and accounting operations. It was presented to the Prime Minister and the Ministers (the Minister of Planning, the Minister of Social Solidarity, and many others), also the Governors (the Governors of Ismailia, Suez, and the Governor of Port said). Everyone honored and praised this project during the national initiative, it won first place in the category of non-profit projects.

Development of an Enhanced Supply Chain Algorithm for ERP Systems Using ACO, Genetic, and Floyd-Warshall Algorithms | Chapter 2 | Engineering Research: Perspectives on Recent Advances Vol. 3

With the increasing complexity of global supply chains, there's a pressing need for advanced algorithms that can optimize routes, reduce costs, and ensure timely deliveries. In the era of digital transformation, optimizing supply chains is paramount for businesses to remain competitive. This research article delves into the creation of an enhanced supply chain algorithm for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems using the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO), Genetic, and Floyd-Warshall algorithms. Through a comparative analysis using dummy data from two companies, Alco and Palto, the efficacy of the study approach was demonstrated. The integration of Ant Colony Optimization (ACO), Genetic, and Floyd-Warshall algorithms offers a comprehensive solution for enhancing supply chain operations in ERP systems. While each algorithm has its strengths, the Genetic Algorithm proved to be particularly effective in the simulation due to its ability to consider multiple variables simultaneously.

Navigating Implementation Challenges of Enterprise Resource Planning Systems in the Tanzania Mining Industry: Evidence from Barrick Mining Company Tanzania | Chapter 10 | Contemporary Research in Business, Management and Economics Vol. 2

The study assessed the implementation challenges of ERP systems in the Tanzania mining industry. Businesses are under increased pressure to minimize supply chain costs overall, increase throughout, decrease inventory, diversify their product offerings, enhance customer service, raise quality, raise efficiency and synchronize global demand, supply and production. A mixed research approach was employed, in that regard, a case study design was used. Since the approach of the study was qualitative, then the content/ thematic analysis was employed. However, the quantitative data collected were analyzed by using Statistical Packaging for Social Sciences (SPSS). The study finding shows that, despite the ERP's success, its implementation of it has been constrained by some challenges. For example, the challenge which were identified by the respondents was the high cost of implantation (87.50%) due to the investment of newly acquired technology which requires investment of a lot of money which many organizations cannot afford it. According to the study's findings, there is a higher chance of success when management accountants are involved in the implementation of an ERP system. There was a lot of frustration during the installation phase because the task is not simple. But in cases where deployments are effective, data quality improves, information is available more quickly and decision-making is enhanced. Also, the IT infrastructures in the country have been reported by respondents to be incapable of accommodating most of the new technologies (84.38%). Furthermore, the findings reveal that the performance and acquisition of the ERP system were constrained by a lack of enough and qualified personnel which makes it difficult to make the implementation of its at large scale (71.88%). The study concludes that the system is important to be adopted and applied not only in the mining sector but also in all sectors of the economy.  According to the study, management accountants should be able to easily communicate with the management team and summarize and explain the results (the financial data's impact) in plain language. It is imperative that management accountants adopt a collaborative position with managers.
