Aerobic Biodegradation of Malachite Green and Methyl Red by Klebsiella pneumonia KP 13 Isolated from Soil Contaminated with Laboratory Effluent | Chapter 1 | Research Advances in Microbiology and Biotechnology Vol. 5

Synthetic dyes are established in the textile, bread, cosmetic, and paper publication industry. Due to their unruliness and persistence in the atmosphere they pose a threat to incidental health. The current study was completed activity to study decolorization of two such environmental contaminants, Methyl red,   an azo dye and Malachite green, a triphenylmethane dye by Klebsiella pneumonia KP 13 that was isolated from lab effluent adulterated soil of our college. Identification of the forceful isolate was attested by 16S r DNA method. Klebsiella pneumonia KP 13 was worthy utilizing Methyl coral and Malachite green as sole beginning of carbon in a medium holding 200 mgL-1 of di- ammonium hydrogen phosphate and 1000 mgL-1 yeast extract at best pH 7, temperature 37°C and under trembling conditions. Extent of decolorization of Malachite green and Methyl flaming was to in consideration of 85% and 93% respectively in 24 hours. Presence of nitrites in the decolorized samples of Methyl red rooted aerobic mode of biodegradation so ruling out composition of toxic scented amines.

Resorcinol Incorporated Azo Chromophore: Design, Spectral and Biological Investigation of Its Metal Chelates | Chapter 6 | Progress in Chemical Science Research Vol. 6

Azo dye ligands are a class of basic compounds that are widely used as chromophores, in miscellaneous applications such as dyes, pigments, and noticing materials. Novel change metal aggregates of Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Fe(III) incorporating azo chromophore, 3-hydroxy-4-(2,4-dihydroxyphenylazo)naphthalene-1-sulphonic acid (LH) have been combined and characterized. Characterization of combined ligand and complexes were acted from their microanalysis, magnetic susceptibility, bony object in mouth conductance, bulk spectrometry, fluorescence, vibrational, photoelectric, 1H-NMR and ESR spectral studies. Mössbauer spectral study of Fe(II) complexes are stated. The azo ligand coordinates to differing metal entities through O- mite of hydroxy group and N-atom of azo group. The radiance studies reveal improved emission. Cyclic voltametric studies and nonlinear optical (NLO) characteristics were reported for representative aggregates and ligand. The in vitro organic activity of LH and corresponding composites were evaluated against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans and the results display that the complexes have potential organic characteristics. Antioxidant activity of the ligand and aggregates was reported utilizing DPPH free radical scavenging technique. The nuclease venture of LH and metal complexes disclose the cleavage of DNA through redox allure.
