In
Minna, Niger State, this study looked into the attitudes of students and
student-teachers regarding the teaching profession. A sample of 250 respondents
was randomly selected from public and private schools around the Minna
metropolitan, and data was collected using a fifteen-item questionnaire and a
structured interview schedule. Frequency counts, percentages, and means were
used to examine the data. The findings demonstrated that individuals had a good
attitude toward teaching, albeit to varying degrees of relevance. The findings
have implications for school administration in that students' and
student-teachers' attitudes toward teaching are a reflection of school
personnel's views regarding their careers.
